Ticketless Travel

How to travel in train with no hard copy of eticket

It happened that we have to travel from a small town by train to the nearest airport. While we booked the tickets online (thanks to wireless internet services) it was not possible to get a print out of the ticket due to power outage in the whole city. We risked to the railway station without the ticket to see if any procedure (official/unofficial) is available. None of the people at all positions were able to help us as it is essential that we have the HARD COPY of the ticket and there is no procedure available. To be on the safer side we took a general ticket to make sure we are not thrown out of the train. We explained hard to the TTR why we were not able to take a print out he looked rather very cool (He would have had countless experiences). He checked our ID cards and issued a excess fare ticket for just Rs. 50. Quite a simple procedure isn’t it. So next time don’t worry if you don’t have a hardcopy of eticket.
